The Teacher of Jurisprudence

The late Ayatollah Sayyid Mohammad Musawi, known as Muhaqqiq Damad (d. 1388 AH), was one of the prominent scholars and distinguished teachers of jurisprudence (Fiqh) and principles of Islamic law (Usul al-Fiqh). He played a significant role in consolidating and strengthening this newly established seminary after the passing of Ayatollah Hajj Sheikh Abdul-Karim Ha’eri (d. 1355 AH).
Despite decades of teaching and intellectually nurturing dozens of outstanding students—some of whom have become great Maraji’ (sources of emulation)—unfortunately, no independent written work by Ayatollah Muhaqqiq Damad (May God Have Mercy on Him) has survived in his two fields of specialization (Fiqh and Usul).
However, fortunately, many of his students transcribed detailed notes from his lectures. The handwritten transcripts collected from his students in Fiqh and Usul have been scanned and are now presented in this software, carefully categorized and separated by each transcriber and each series of lectures. This collection includes scanned images of approximately one hundred notebooks.
In addition to these transcripts, this collection contains eighteen handwritten texts on jurisprudential topics authored by Ayatollah Muhaqqiq Damad himself, along with two commentaries (Hawashi) he wrote on Sheikh Ansari’s (May God Have Mercy on Him) book *Manasik al-Hajj* and on *Al-Urwah al-Wuthqa*.
