About the Specialized Research Institute of Martyr Sadr:

The lofty status and high rank of the great martyr, Imam Martyr Sayyid Muhammad Baqir Sadr, among the hearts of Muslims in the contemporary era is hidden from no one. Truly, it can be said that he is one of the few individuals who blossomed his profound intellectual and cognitive thoughts and gave them the best form of reality.

If the tyranny of the times committed injustices against this thoughtful martyr, there is no reason for us to also bow to this injustice and consign this precious scholar to oblivion. Especially since this great personality deserves to be placed in his appropriate position and introduced to all people of the world through his works and achievements.

It was from this standpoint that a semi-personal initiative was launched by some of Imam Martyr Sadr's students to revive the position of this divine scholar, place him in his suitable scientific and cognitive station, and solidify his popular standing. The organization of the International Conference on Grand Ayatollah Martyr Sadr in Tehran in the winter of 2001 CE is evidence of these efforts. Those who bore the greatest hardship and toil for the success of this conference were Mr. Sayyid Nur al-Din Ashkouri (may God protect him) and Mr. Sheikh Muhammad Ali Taskhiri (may God protect him), who exerted great efforts in this regard and demonstrated an effective and pleasant spirit.

The "Specialized Research Institute of Martyr Sadr" branched off and became independent from this conference with the aim of pursuing the publication of Imam Martyr Sadr's works, along with the complete correction and editing of his writings. By the time this conference was held, the publication of five volumes of these works had been completed, which continued up to the publication of 20 volumes. In the meantime, I also had the opportunity to play an effective role in adding three more books to this collection, bringing it to 23 volumes. Recently, we have also obtained other books which, with God's help, will be published after preparation.

God Almighty granted me the success of approximately ten years of research into the works of Imam Martyr Sadr. In addition to compiling "The Encyclopedia of Muhammad Baqir Sadr: Biography and Struggles in Realities and Documents" in five volumes, this yielded many other fruits, including a vast number of documents, transcriptions and explanations of lessons, research papers, as well as translations into foreign languages.

Furthermore, to complete the benefit of this work and to publish Martyr Sadr's works on a wide scale using all possible means, we made it a priority to create an electronic database containing all the information gathered in our archives and converting it into digital format. This is alongside a massive software program that enables advanced text search; that is, this very great electronic library that is now in your hands.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that we intend to publish this archive in two different versions:

Version One: Includes sources on biography, the collection of works, transcriptions and explanations of lessons, images, and audio files.

Version Two: In addition to the content of Version One, this includes hundreds of articles and published research papers about Martyr Sadr, alongside hundreds of written documents, a collection of manuscripts, and more than two hundred translations of Martyr Sadr's books into various languages.

We hope that what we have accomplished through these efforts will be beneficial for researchers, and we hope that we have fulfilled even a small portion of the many rights that our teacher of generations, Imam Martyr Sadr, has over us.

Finally, I feel it necessary to express my special gratitude to the family of Martyr Sadr, who expressed their complete trust in me, and to Mr. Sayyid Nur al-Din Ashkouri, who assisted me in this important task in the best possible way.
