A Reflection on the Word "Porsman"
"Porsman" is a compound word: "Pors" (to ask) + "man" (house or abode). (1) Thus, "Porsman" means "House of Questions".
Asking questions is the first step in thinking. Without inquiry, hearts — the dwelling places of elevated human knowledge — remain closed and never open. The Noble Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him and his family) said: "Knowledge is a treasure, and its key is asking questions." (2)
Through questioning, knowledge flows into the hearts. Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said: *"Ask, so that you may learn."* (3)
