About Turath 2
**"The Turath 2 Library" is a collection of books related to the literature, culture, and sciences of Muslims. The contents included in these books comprise literary, historical, hadith-based, ethical, wisdom, and humorous reports. What is generally pursued in these books is cultural and literary news that is not given much attention in general and official history books, and today is referred to as "social history." Therefore, materials related to the social and cultural life of people are abundantly found in these books; to such an extent that for researching general culture and knowing its manifestations, there is no alternative but to refer to this type of books.
News related to lower strata and classes is also included in this collection of books, and aspects of their social life that are not covered in official history books have been addressed. For example, one can mention news related to animals and how people used them and their economic value, for which several books on this topic exist in this program.
Also, in the mentioned books, matters related to writing and calligraphy, types of letters, and issues concerning official correspondence (Dabiri) and administrative offices have been discussed, and several books in this collection pertain to this very subject. Therefore, these books can be considered "cultural history" and "interdisciplinary books" where information from various sciences is found in some way; although the literary aspect dominates them.
Since the content of Turath books is, on one hand, highly scattered and worthy of use in various sciences, and on the other hand, this scattered material is not easily accessible, the necessity of digitizing these books becomes very evident. By producing this software, users can easily find the materials they are looking for.
This library, in terms of content scope, includes books that are considered textual works, and in terms of temporal scope, it covers the books of early scholars and does not address modern books and research.
The audience of this software is not the general public, but researchers in various scientific fields such as historians, literary scholars, and those interested in political and social sciences. The goal is to make ancient and authentic sources available to researchers in the humanities; without any specific orientation in the selection or promotion of the aforementioned sources by its providers; for this reason, this program does not guarantee the correctness of the content of the sources from an ideological or any other perspective.
It is worth recalling that the Computer Research Center of Islamic Sciences had previously released software called "Turath 1," and "Turath 2 Library" is its new version. "Turath 2 Library," compared to "Turath 1," in addition to increasing the number of books and upgrading from 65 titles to 283 titles, has also conducted a purification of some books unrelated to the title "Turath" and removed some books that were not consistent with the title "Turath Library"; therefore, only books that were on the desired topic and compatible with the library's definition have been included.
Characteristics of the Books in This Collection:
1. The dispersion of the news contained in them is such that they are applicable in various sciences, and this very characteristic clarifies the necessity of presenting this type of books in software form;
2. The selection of materials and their contents from among the contents of different books written in various disciplines;
3. The phrases being short, concise, and expressive;
4. Presenting reports with literary phrases, and sometimes in the form of tales and stories; in a way that captivates the reader's heart and relieves their fatigue.
